On a 2000 GMC Jimmy, what causes the fuel gauge to fluctuate?

There is a module in the instrument panel that goes bad. When it does the gauge will move back and forth because the fuel is sloshing in the tank.

Fuel gauge does no register properly

Older cars use to fluctuate, when driving. Not at start up. At start up it would be a power or ground problem. Newer ones can also be power and ground. They don't fluctuate though. I have found that newer cars that fluctuate are a problem with the instrument panel(IP). The different readings at start up could be the IP or the sending unit in the tank

Engine oil pressure high & fluctuate @ 90 to 100 psi when it cold. Engine oil pressure fluctuate at 50 to 60 pis when it warm. What is the problem on this issue?

The oil would thin out and could show lower pressure when its warmed. The sender for the gauge could also be bad.

Should the oil pressure gauge fluctuate with speed

The oil pressure guage will fluctuate with engine RPM. At idle it should be approximately 20 lbs./sq.in, at high revs about 50-60 lbs./sq.in. Hope this helps any concerns you may have. Good luck!
