Speedo cable may be loose at the gearbox or may have snapped inside, sometimes you cant see but inside the cable tears apart. only other option is the instrument panel if the cable has come loose from there then this will also cause the fault. Esy to check just unscrew the instrument panel and see if the cable is sat correctly.

Speedometer on my 95 gmc sierra 4.3l v6 is registering right at 4 mph higher that what I'm actually going help please.

If you have recently changed from stock wheels and tires to aftermarket, the problem could be as simple as your wheels turning more revolutions per mile due to a tire height change. That would cause the speedometer to register high.

Tach, speedometer, and odometer do not work. tranny dont down shift.

the ignition switch needs to be replaced, not the key switch but the actual switch and harnes9comes together.when this is deftive you have the abive symtoms but only 3rd and reverse will work.try tapping the switch,if the tach ect. starts working so wil the tranny, repace the switch.
