Question about 1986 Ford F 250
I have a 1986 Ford F250 Diesel Pickup. I started having trouble getting it started. I was able to start it after getting a jump from a Suburban (my car didn't have enough juice to start it). Eventually, I got it to a local shop. They said it needed an alternator and a starter. The price they quoted was higher than I could afford so I took it to an individual who works on diesels. He replaced the alternator and the voltage regulator, said the starter was fine but couldn't get the truck to hold charge. He checked the wiring and the alternator again and they all checked out fine. What else could it be?
The selanoid will drain your battery , i have had this happen before , sorry about the spelling . hope this works , i don't know how to check it and i hate swapping parts to find the problem , you could ask the auto parts store how to check it they should be able to tell you , hope this helps you , wish i knew for sure .
