How are the spark plugs wired from the coil pack?

You didn't mention whether this was a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder. Below is a link to the procedure for swapping them out, and down around step 7 is a diagram that shows where each cylinder connects to the coil pack. Cavalier is the Chevy equivalent of the Grand Am. Same parts and procedures usually work for both.

My 2004 chevy trailblazer is missing badly. Had them read the code for me at auto zone and it said I had a miss fire on the number one cylinder. I changed the plugs and it is still missing badly

Try moving the coil pack from cylinder 1 to another cylinder (swap locations) and see if the same code comes up. If code is different, then coil pack is bad. Other reasons for miss; bad injector, poor compression.
Also, I know you changed plugs already, but always use AC Delco 43-103 plugs on this vehicle.

99 dodge caravan #4 cylinder misfires, i replaced spark plug wires and spark plugs. Scanner showed #4 still misfiring, could this be the coil?

It could very well be a bad coil pack,or you have low compression in that cylinder. If the compression is good then go with the coil pack,if not you may need a head gasket or an intake manifold gasket.

Code reader was reading miss in #5.changed coil pack now reads random miss fire

Recheck the ignition module, The module is what the coil pack sits on and the wire harness may be damaged due to corrosion or broken wires. At worst, the module is bad it self and needs to be replaced. Good luck and hope this helps.

I need a plug wire diagram for a 1995 Pontiac

Looking on your engine:
(Coil packs)
5-2 3-6 4-1
(Cylinders)
1 3 5
2 4 6
Your firing order (although irrelevant):
1-2-3-4-5-6
