Question about 1997 Buick Riviera
I have a 95 and the way i took the dasy off is, under neath the lip of the dash there is a plastic plate that goes accross the whole dash there is plastic pins in there u have to remove i used a flat head screw driver but they might break. then there is several screws that connect the top of the dash to the front of the console remove them screws when u remove them there is 2 more screws one of them is on the drivers side u have to remove the the whole fuse panel and there is the same thing on the pass side once all the screws are out u have to lift the bash board to remove the console now this is were it gets trickey cause it is hard to lift the dash doard cause it only goes so far cause of the airbag but just work at it and lift the console out not the climate control is exposed. there is 2 screws at the bottom and then there is one way in the back top center. then the climate control will come out disconect the wires on the right side and insert the new one. i did not put top screw back in cause it was almost inpossibe with out a maginatic screwdriver. with the top screw out thereis no difference in operation and it does not move in the console. once u get that in its tome to put the console back on but the stering wheel all the way down and insert bottom first and take your time cause this is the hardest part but it will evently go back in and when it does make sure the taps on the console are behind the ones on the dash board screw in all the screws and put the plate back on with the plastic clips. and make sure the screws are tight other wise the dash board will make noise like mine does. and just so u know is seems harder then what it looks
