Either there isn't enough oil (add more) or the pressure sensor has failed - test and replace it.

How do I turn off the Chane Oil light on a 2004 GMC Envoy?

  1. Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
  2. Immediately after Step 1 press and release the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
  3. If the Change Oil Soon light flashes the system is resetting.
  4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Wont chane up gears from cold for about 1.5 miles then runs and changes as if there wernt a problem

The tranny filter is probably clogged up. Cold Fluid has a hard time going thru filter but hot oil will go thru easier. Have trannyoil and filter changed

Oil filter wont come off

this is a last ditch attempt- first of all make sure it is a sealed unit -not an element type. then with a hammer knock a long screwdriver right through it- this gives more leverage- as I say last ditch attempt AK
