Question about 1995 Dodge Stratus
There is several possibilities that could be causing this: Here are a few good probabilities:
1. Dirty or fouled Spark Plugs. Pull them one at a time, inspect and clean and regap them. Replace if necessary.
2. Worn Wires. A great way to see if your wires are bad: In total darkness: Start your Engine and look under the hood. Do you see light blue mini sparks dancing all around? If so new wires!
3. Idle Air Control Valve malfunctioning.
Unplug and check and clean the electrical connections.
Remove the Idle Air Control Valve and clean it as much as you can, and let it dry.
Reinstall, replug connector and check operations.
I took the liberty to look up the parts on Autozone...No I don't work for them!
Available at Autozone: Part #AC333 for around $110.
4. Throttle Position Sensor malfunctioning.
Again: Unplug and check and clean the electrical connections.
Remove the Throttle Position Sensor and clean as much as you can and let it dry.
Reinstall, replug and check operation.
Available at Autozone Part #TPS336 for around $77.
