I guessing you have a bad ignition switch. But, without being able to check it, I'm doing just that, guessing.

Hi i have a 91 honda civic, i have a new battery and a new altinator,..... my car wil not star now, as i turn the key to the start position it clicks, but doesn't turn on. the last time i tried to start...

There is a small pinion in the starter motor known as BENDEX. it is supposed to move forward and engage the flywheel when you turn the key to start. And when you release the key, this pinion goes back. The click you hear is this bendex not doing its job. Please have it repaired/replaced if it can not be repaired.

My 95 honda civic started but when I went to drove off it cut off and now it won't start but it will turn over?

I just replaced the switch connected to the ignition key in my niece's Honda. it was worn out. With hers you could hear the motor run if you held the key in the start position with the starter on but when you release the key to be in the run position the motor dies.Your problem kinda sounds the same.
I hope this info helps you.

There is a replaceable contact set on the back of the ignition tumbler. You need to replace it.

My car wont stay running

Does the engine die as soon as you release the key, or does it run for a couple of seconds after you release the key and then die? If it dies as soon as you release the key, try holding the key for a few seconds and see if it will stay running as long as you are holding the key (the starter will make a grinding sound while holding the key but won't hurt anything). If it stays running while you hold the key then dies when you release it, that indicates that the ignition switch is bad.
