I had the oil changes but am getting the service soon indicator..think they did not reset the service inidicator..is there any mechanic out there that knows what they are doing or do they all take advantage of women.
Not all of us are like that,
your service engine soon light is totally different then the oil life reminder light, you need to have the codes read to know what is going on,if you go to Autozone they will check codes for free, but none are mechanics, they do this service free hoping to sell backyard mechanics sensors before checking the car out.so get the code numbers and thank them and drive away.let us know what the code numbers are .
The service light needs to be cleared with a scan tool or code reader. They should have done that for you. One can be borrowed from some auto parts stores like the AutoZone. You can find them for $30, or fancy ones for $200+.
They are very simple to use. Just plug them in to the cars computer, under the dash board and steering wheel. The rest is following the easy instructions it gives you.
I bought my own, and got a nice one from Harbor Frieght for $120. It is a great investment. Even if you don't work on your own car, this will tell you what is wrong with it when a light comes on. Mine also checks to see if it is ready for SMOG, and what sensor is not working correctly.
They take advantage of all of us. I am here to help in my small way to put an end to it.
Good Luck!
