I have a 1996 Plymouth Breeze... That won't start,

Hi, this sounds like a bad fuel pump. I would have the fuel pressure checked. Sometimes Autozone will let you borrow a fuel pressure gauge to check your fuel pressure. Just unscrew the cover from the pressure port on the fuel rail and screw on the pressure gauge. Put a rag over your hand while screwing it on to avoid getting fuel sprayed around. Lay the gauge in a safe place and start the car. Read the gauge, record the reading, turn the car off and remove the gauge. If the pressure is less than 35 psi, you need a new fuel pump. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

I have a 1997 Plymouth Breeze. And it was running great one day then all of a sudden while driving down the road it lost all power like it was out of gas, but it has a full tank. So I let it sit for a few...

First thing I would do is spray some ether in the air horn to see if it will fire. If not, you will have to do some alternate troubleshooting. (Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5821173-doesnt_car_start_gasoline_engines .) If yes, then you have verified the problem is fuel. The next thing I would do is swap the fuel pump relay with the horn relay. See if that fixes it. If yes, you just need a relay. If not, next I would replace the filter. It's cheap and easy and worth a try. The pump is expensive and hard to replace, so rule everything else out first. The relay is usually in the engine compartment relay box. I think I can see it in the pick below. The filter is near fuel tank, mounted on frame rail in fuel line. Let me know if you get stuck or have questions.

97 ply breeze 2.4 no power to the fuel pump fuse is ok replaced relay still no power

ok then, next step is check wiring. looked for open copper touching the frame or chafing through the harness. Then check for grounds. Make sure they are CLEAN and TIGHT. and clean i mean spotless. If that still does not work then check for a different fuse that is burned out. Perhaps something else shares the same circuit as the fuel pump and is blowing the fuse, ie cigarette lighter is a bad one for causing all sorts of havoc. good luck!

Wont start trying to locate the fuel pump jag. xj6

Hello.
Most cars have the fuel pump on the drivers side right in front of the rear wheel tucked up into the body panel. You can easily find them by tracing the thin fuel line from the tank until you get to the fuel pump. Hope this helps!
