Question about 1990 Ford F150
I want to change my 4.9 6 cyl to a 302 v8
A donor truck is a good idea, but the transmission, bell housing, cross members and transmission mounts will all be the same as long as you dont go from manual to auto or opposite. motor mounts will be different tho. i put a manual trans off of a 94 F-150 with a 300 6-cyl into my 91 bronco with a 351 V8 (5.8L) and used all the mounts and crossmembers off of the 94. only thing is the petal assm was different due to body changes. and the 5.8L also has a 11" clutch **** and the 5.0L and 4.9L both use a 10" disk. the bad thing is you will have a ton of stuff to change like the ECU, and engine harness and and other then the Ypipe and converters the exhaust will work. such a project is not for the faint of heart.

Your best solution would be to purchase a donor truck with a 5.0 driveline. This will be a timely swap, you will have to change transmission, wiring harness, transmission crossmember, motor mounts, radiator, computer, exhaust system. If you have enough time and the other truck thens its possible to do this swap,we swapped a 1995 from a 5.0 to a 5.8 but in your case your engine is totally different.
