My 2006 VDP had error code and mechanic found nothing wrong. Reset computer and Ive driven 200+ miles and when I try to get inspected it keeps ginVing "not ready" message for two items.

Not ready means that the engine control computer has not completed what is called a drive cycle self test, to do this drive cycle and clear the system asap you need to follow the instructions at the link. Note that during the drive cycle you may get that fault code and check engine light again if the problem you mentioned is still present. How to Perform Basic Drive Cycle

Check engine light came on - had a diagnostic test done which specified a hose - had hose replaced and have driven car 160 miles and check engine light still hasn't gone off???

The check engine flag has to be cleared. The place that replaced the hose should have done that. Call them up and ask them to do it. They ought to do it for free.

My 2001 cadillac deville the service engine soon light comes on and the computer from the parts store said it was related to the air pump or hoses any ideas?

hi, well i would have to disagree with the computer, all this is actually telling you is that you have a service due, what this means is, when you take it to a garage and get a main service like, plugs, leads oil, brake checks and adjustments, transmission fluid change, filters changed, ect ect, the service interval is reset to a certain mileage , when it is coming up for the next service, it will remind you of this again when you get close to the end of the mileage required, ie, if you have a service every 15,000 miles, it will be reset to 15,000 miles, but when you get to, lets say, 2,000 miles left to go before next service, this will then come on and inform you that you have only 2,000 miles left before your next service, i hope i have explained that correctly for you..

Check engine light on p0743 cannot clear code

Unhook the battery for 1-3 minutes. Then hook it back up. you will have to re program your stereo but it will clear the computer, and will have to be driven 30 miles non stop before it comes back on

My 2002 Grand Prix GT 3.8L Won't pass emissions. Testing center's scanner says car was recently worked on and that the mileage driven since is not enough to recycle check engine light. The ck eng. light...

Nope, you just need more miles. When the car's computer has been disconnected from power (such as when the battery is unhooked), it'll set what are called "readiness codes" when power is reapplied. It takes a certain number of miles to clear these - some cars require 50 miles, some 100 miles, and some (such as some Isuzu models) need very specific drive cycles to clear them. Once the requisite number of miles have been driven without issues, the readiness codes will extinguish and your car should pass.

"Service Engine soon" light came on last night when i was driving

No it will not. If you just bought the car. no doubt it has problems and the person you bought the car from had cleared the codes. After you have driven it a few days, the light has come on. because the engine computer (ECM) has run the tests and if a a component fails the test 2 times it will turn the light on. Sometimes a good scan tool (tech2) can tell you the "miles since cleared" and you how how many miles ago that the computer was cleared of all codes.

Either get a OBD2 electronic reader and clear codes or try disconnecting battery for five minutes to reset. Good luck.
