Question about 1989 Jeep Cherokee
It is located in the fuel tank. Use a brass punch or hardwood to keep from creating sparks when removing the retainer ring. The pump can be replaced as just the pump unit by removing the old one from the assembly once you've removed the assembly from inside the fuel tank, and reinstalling the new pump & connecting the wiring & a new filter, or as a complete assembly that just inserts into the fuel tank and plugs in to the wiriing harness once reassembled. hook up the lines & good to go. eBay has this pump & assembly available, I checked. good luck
