Coolant leak on the back side of a 2000 pontiac grand am, i can see the wet area on the back left corner underneath the exhaust manifold, i checked all the hoses and they are dry, could it be the head...

does this car have the coolant 90degree elbows in the tension-er pully? If it does this would be where I start. Cheap fix at any parts store for $4. Mine split causing slow coolant leak, then when replaced worked great for about 6 months then split again. Slow leak for about a month then blew completely out. Parts store tells me they sell a lot of them for GM vehicles.

Pontiac grand prix gt 3800 dexcool leak

Do you see the coolant leaking on the motor? From the drivers side, you can inspect the intake manifold...unfortunately as good as this motor usually is...it is known for leaking at the intake manifold...and requires a new intake gasket...DO NOT USE dexcool after the replacement...many teams believe the dexcool is part of the problem...use the coolant that "For All Coolant Systems" is still the green anti-freeze...Hope this helps.

Why does my 2000 pontiac grand am leak coolant

coolant leaking could come from different areas, i would 1st start checking for leaks around the thermostat area, this is normally where the top radiator hose connects too, then i would look at the water pump area to see if any coolant is visable on the outside of it, also check your heater hoses for leaks too, some cars have even had antifreeze leaks coming from the freeze plugs, which are installed into the engines block, they are normally on the sides of the engines. don't forget to check out the radiator, a good way to find antifreze leaks is after you drive the car for a while, and then park it, and then put a large piece of cardboard under your car, make it large enough to go from the radiator to at least the windshield area, if it leaks then, you will be able to see what area the antifreeze has leaked.

The car is leaking coolant and the heater only works on 4 and 5 it won't work on lower settings.

Heater fan problem is most likely the resitor that plugs into the blower motor on the passager side under the dash (very common problem with GM cars). As far as the coolant leak you are going to have to be more specific about where it is comming from.

Firing order for 3.4 v6 dohc

The firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6.The coils are from the passengers side towards the drivers side. Are 5-2,3-6,4-1.The front 3 cylinders are 2-4-6 and the rear are 1-3-5.The only other thing is The 3.4 did not come with a dual overhead cam. That was the old 3.4.The best way to tell what motor you have is to look at the 8th digit of the vin number. It will be a T or an E.T is the 2.4 DOHC.This is a 4 cylinder. The E is the v-6 3.4 cylinder engine.Hope this helps.Good luck.
