If you bought an aftermarket cooler. Such as valley or
evercool or one of the many others out there.
Check their websites for a support section. They may
have instalation instructions and diagrams.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Diagram Fuel

there are many parts sites on the internet that will have diagrams of the parts you are trying to buy or search for. sometimes you can get luck enough to get the diagrams that way. other is to google the phrase you are looking for like "oil cooler line diagram for 1999 sportage". but be careful because a lot of what comes up is just advertisements. autozone and advance auto have mechanics sections too. they have diagrams there as well.

I just purchased a used 2005 Pathfinder and just learned of my potential problem with the radiator/transmission cooler assy.

You have no choice but to buy & install a new radiator

That is something you should have researched before
buying, not a big deal unless the trans cooler fails then
so fails the trans

Also I believe you have to drop the fuel tank & change the
sending unit as the fuel tank is deformed
That part may be avail under some govt mandate & free
but not the radiator

The cooler your asking about is inside the radiator, not the one
out front of condensor you can see

You don't by pass the radiator nowadays with all the computer
controls unless your a sharp & perceptive person who can know
the results of doing so.

There is lots to read on the internet & I have done a lot of it,
years ago considering buying a nissan frontier, I have yet to
decide about

I would buy an aftermarket big name radiator & install yourself
then see if you can get the sending unit for free frem a dealer
& intall that as well

When you get a timing chain noise- the updated Borg Warner ones
can out in Nov 2009 for the 2010's on the assy line

What could be leaking under car tranmission

Hello, You really need to look under the Vehicle to see what is leaking. Best if you can put it inside with several newspapers under it. Then if it is a slow leak you will be able to look directly above the drip stain.
You have several things which could leak. There is a water draintube from the Air Conditioning ducts and it is normal and harmless for this tube to drain. Look at the color of what fluid is draining. Red usually means transmission fluid. There are cooling lines running from the Trans to the radiator. They can leak as well as the trans gasket.
If you have a 4wheel drive, the transfer case can also leak. Photos for the undercarriage are few and far between. Try a Web Browser search using your model vehicle and then the terms undercarriage photos. Avoid using diagrams as a term because you will get stick diagrams and no photos.
Some repairs are quite easy, but front seals require separation of the trans from the motor and some tailshaft housings require disassembly of the back of the trans to install rear seals. Depends on whether rear seal is accessible from the end or must be install with the casing removed. Rear seal requires removal of the driveshaft.
Sometimes you can get the photo you need from an individual using a Blog format. Look for Chevy or GMC blog sites, 4x4 sites and so on.

I am installing a trans cooler on a 700R trans. Which line is the return line?

most trans coolers don`t have a thermostat in them to allow quicker warm up of the trans fluid so it doesn`t matter which line is connected to the cooler as the flow will always be the same through the cooler.however the line that is at the bottom of the radiator is usually the return line and the top line is the pressure line and the fluid cools as it flows through the rad tank to the lower line.hth

How do you replace the transmission cooler on my 89 oldsmobile cutlass supream

Your trans cooler is located inside one of the radiator tanks and would be expensive to replace.
You can either replace the radiator with new or used or cut the lines and install an external cooler as is used for towing. If the cooler in the radiator is leaking, you need to flush the system to remove as much oil as possible or it will cause hoses to soften and fail. Also wise to change trans fluid as well.
Always use double clamps when running rubber lines for cooler so they don't slide apart under pressure.

Need to know which line goes where on tha radiatior comeing from transmission, need diagram showing hook-ups

They should only fit one way. Since this system is flow through they can hook up either way. If you have an external cooler the routing is simple. One line from trans to radiator, out of radiator to cooler, out of cooler back to trans. If no cooler, to rad and back to trams. As I said there is no specific direction.

My transmission line that connects to the radiator

The easiest fix is to get a transmission fluid cooler & use it to replace the fan connection completely. Basically you'll just shorten your lines a bit to clamp a hose over them & connect both lines to the 2 lines on the cooler. the cooler installs onto the front of the radiator with push through connectors that makes it easy to install & it will provide you even better trans. cooling in the warm months.

I have seen people use just a hose to connect the 2 lines & not have any problem in the cooler months but you really do need the trans fluid cooled during the warmer months to prevent trans damage.

check you fluid & top it off properly after making the repair!

Good Luck
