That's telling you that the computer is having to command extra fuel above and beyond what is programmed

most of the time its a sign that you need to replace the fuel filter

other times its the fuel pump that is failing

bottom line...get to a technician with a scan tool because if you are running lean you can cause some serious engine concerns!!!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Lite hesitation when at cruse speed 1997 lincoln conti.

Have you tried a fuel system clean up. Has it got a barb or injection? I would, as a first step, change the fuel filter and add some injector cleaner. Possibly the fuel system clean might overcome the issue. Think about having a service carried out, might be tuning related,
If the hesitation were a fully blown flat spot that could not be remedied I would suggest a compression test to ascertain the condition of the bores/pistons. but this does not appear to be necessary at this point.

99 tahoe 141000 miles, owned since 2000 no problems ever, last month started bad hesitation first drive of the day only, between 30-50 mph goes but acts like not getting fuel?? after about 10 miles it

Most common problems with hesitation is low fuel pressure or a faulty throttle position sensor.
Was the TPS and the fuel filter on that list of stuff replaced ?

I HAVE A 91 SEDAN DEVILLE.4.9 PORT FUEL INJECTION V8. I HAVE PLENTY OF ACCELERATION FROM STOP TO 20-30MPH. BUT WHEN I AM AT ANY CRUISE SPEED AND STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR IT HESITATES AND DOES NOT...

Sounds like a malfunctioning egr system. Too much egr gasses at once will lean out the air fuel mixture and cause hesitation in an engine. Just my 2 cents.

As driving when speed reaches 19 to 20 mph it acts like it isnt getting any gas it cuts out and resumes

check fuel pump or change fuel filter. its not getting enough fuel, change fuel filter, and it should make a big difference.
