I have had a tune up done, a diagnostic done, was told a security code came up, the ignition cylinder is sort of rough turning, purchased a new one, the last time it turned while my wife was driving i turned the key back and forth a few times and it stated i think the ignition is bad.

ok, with the info you stated, The only thing that can cause this problem would be the ignition switch, especially if you feel there is resistance or the ignition does not turn as it used to. There are power supply contacts inside the switch, and if a switch becomes worn enough, these contacts will pull away, causing loss of power to the engine. There are many reasons why ignitions fail; I would recommend a switch replacement at this point. Autozone has quality parts and instructions for how to install. They are not easy, but the replacement proceedure does require you to be able to at least turn the switch.

Sorry for the delay in responding back. For me to describe to you on this post how to remove an ignition switch from any vehicle is not possible. I suggest a service manual with detailed illustrations and procedures. They are not easy to do and may even require a Torx screw driver to remove some components. I have always found the local library to be an excellent source for automotive manuals, and it will not cost you a dime. I know if you were to purchase a replacement for autozone, they always came with some type of instuction to guide you through the process. It seems NAPA did not provide this.

Some Driving precautions

Always observe the following precautions to minimize the risk of death, serious personal injury or damage to your vehicle:

In a rollover crash, an unbelted person is significantly more likely to die than a person wearing a seat belt. Therefore, the driver and all passengers should fasten their seat belts whenever the vehicle is moving

Avoid sharp turns or abrupt maneuvers, if at all possible. Failure to operate this vehicle correctly may result in loss of control or vehicle rollover causing death or serious injury.

Avoid loading any items on the roof that will raise the vehicle's center of gravity.

Always slow down in gusty crosswinds. Because of its profile and higher center of gravity, your vehicle is more sensitive to side winds than an ordinary passenger car. Slowing down will allow you to have better control.

When driving off-road, or in rugged terrain, do not drive at excessive speeds, jump, make sharp turns, strike objects etc. This may cause loss of control or vehicle rollover causing death or serious injury. You are also risking expensive damage to your vehicle's suspension and chassis.

Do not drive horizontally across steep slopes. Driving straight up or straight down is preferred. Your vehicle (or any similar off-road vehicle) can tip over sideways much more easily than forward or backward.

Good luck.

Sounds like this vehicle may have had some suspension or accident damage. It needs to be put up on a lift, engine running while someone turns the steering wheel back and forth, a second technician under the vehicle inspecting for where the interference exists when the clunking happens. I don't recommend driving this vehicle.

My toyota 2008 has the vsc and trac lights on after having a wheel alignment done

Alignment is not correct or they did not reset traction system. The sensors are determining that the vehicle is not driving straight. Even the slightest angle can make a big tracking difference when a vehicle gets up to speed brakes or turns.

As I slow down or stop at a stop sign or red light it turns off. It drives good in a highway, as soon as I get out of the highway it turns off, or as I'm driving in the city. Took it to the mechanic can't...

Does it happen in stop and go traffic? If the answer is no and the only time it does happen is at speeds at about 40 mph's or better then its the brake switch its failing to cancell out Torque converter clutch solenoid (TCC). If it happens at all speeds take the vehicle to a shop that does SCOPE TESTING NOT A SCANNER this way they can hook the vehicle up to the SCOPEMETER and drive around with it to see what turns off (other than the vehicle) and causes the vehicle to die.

Lights turns off after a while

Does the service engine light come on? Or is their any other sign of loss of power. Such as the interior light, radio, or other accessories. If so have your battery and charging system checked. When the vehicle is cool the alternator puts out a higher amperage, after the vehicle warns the amperage drops. Though this is normal it sounds like the regulator is not functioning properly and not providing enough electricity.
