AC Heater

It sound like the blower wheel of the blower motor is rubbing the inside of the housing (the smoke). Sounds like the blower wheel rubbing may have burned the inner plastic housing or has come off of the motor shaft inside. Take the blower motor and wheel back out and inspect everything closely I think you will find the problem.

Heater blows cold air

make sure you have enough anti-freeze if you dont have enough it wont push through the motor to your heater core make sure the radiator is full and your resivor is full if its not that you need a new thermostat because your thermostat is stuck wide open these are cheap usually between 5-15 dollars and they are easy to replace just about any backyard mechanic can replace one sounds like you got a cheap easy fix be careful cause alot of shops and dealerships will over charge you this is a cheap part and only takes a few minutes to replace

My heater is not blowing in my 1991 geo prizm, what are the possible problems, when on high the blower was making a rattling noise and now has stopped completely. The a/c is not blowing either.

Your blower motor is gone.Replace it with new one. Also blower motor resistor is fried but it will come with new part that you purchase.

Every time i turn my heater or air condioner on it makes a ticking sound then it goes away after a few seconds it sounds like it coming from the inside by the glove box or right below it

Sometimes leaves or debris collect inside the blower motor case Also if the vehicle has alot of miles and the noise changes tones when changing blower motor speeds the motor may be failing or in need of lubrication. First i would check and clean the blower motor case of debris or leaves. This requires removing nthe blower motor and looking in the housing. Good Luck and I Hope this was very helpful.
