If the problem is no fuel to the cylinders, then the injectors are not pulsing, pick up coil in the distributor,or crankshaft sensor,is bad, witch ever it has.

I changed map sensor on my 1996 gmc Yukon with a 5.7 liter votec cleared codes it stared up but it died it wanted to run no luck but no codes what can it be

Possible fuel pump. Look under the truck and locate the fuel tank. Have an assistant turn the key to the on position(2nd position) and listen to see if your fuel pump gives a him sound for about 2 seconds. If not, bang on the tank with the palm of your hand a few times and try it again. If you hear it, tell your assistant to try and start it. If it cranks, your fuel pump will need replacing.

I have 03 GMC Yukon. It began not starting sometimes. I was told it was the fuel pump (but i hear it whinning when i put the ignition to the on position). Then it began starting when i turned the ignition...

sounds like fuelpump check valve or regulator not holding residual pressure you need to check if fuel pressure is holding with engine off approx. 40 psi

My 2001 gmc yukon ran out of gas I put a half tank of gas and now it sounds as if it wants to crank but it never did start.

First check for spark at any of the sparkplugs. If you do then you need to check your fuel pressure it should be 60-66 with the key on and engine off.If the presurre is below 55 psi then replace the pump and filter. There is a fuel test port on the fuel rail at the back of the engine on top of the intake manifold.

Hoo.commy 01 yukon will not start after sitting for 12 hrs. i have replaced the battery and alternator and the proble is still there.

Alternators wont cause a starting problem. so it cranks? or not? cranks but wont run? the first thing to verify is fuel pressure. If its not 55-60 psi, it will not run. you may need a fuel pump.

I have a 1999 GMC Yukon getting fuel, spark and even cranking good at times. Then if I turn it off for a while, I have to squirt a shot of starting fluid into the intake hole and it cranks over & over...

If you have to spray fluid into it then it sounds like the fuel presseure is not there, get a fuel pressure gauge and see what the pressure reading is, then leave it hooked up for what ever time it takes to not start, before you try to start it check the pressure, if it has dropped then your fuel injector/s or fuel regulator is leaking, crank the engine after taking the reading, the fuel pressure should come back, 60-66 PSI, Vent the fuel tank vapors by loosening the fuel cap.Position the ignition switch and the A/C system in the off position. Install a fuel pressure gauge to the vehicles fuel pressure valve. and with the keyon, engine off verify the PSI reading on the gauge.
Anything less than 60 psi and your fuel pump is weak

97 GMC yukon 5.7 vortex cranks but wont start i used to hear the fuel pump when i turn the key on but now i dont cked all the fuses and relay, OK help!!!!

You should try removeing the fuel filter its under the drivers door mounted to the frame then crank the engine to see if you are ectaly getting fuel flow to the rear of the filter from the pump if you are then replace the filter but honstly the most likely cause is the pump is no good these pumps last about 10 years there were problems with themand the new ones have many upgrades that correct these problems .If you can fix it with the filter you will still have to think about replaceing the pump in the near future if its the orgenial one if you want to keep the vehicle running

Vehicle chokes, sputters, and then shuts off

Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter. The fuel filter may have reached the end of it's life time and is dirty causing the issues you have. The worst is the fuel pump it self has gone bad and needs to be replaced, the fuel pump should be producing 62 to 65 PSI when the engine is started and should drop no more then 5 PSI when the engine is running. You can check the fuel pressure at the shredder valve with a fuel pressure gauge. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help get your Yukon running 100% again.

IF U HAVE A BAD FUEL PUMP OR A FUEL
FILTER BUT THE FUEL PUMP BAD BECAUSE OF THE FILTER MORE THAN LIKELY SO I WOULD REPLACE BOTH IF THE PRESSURE IS NOT BETWEEN 45 PSI AND 55 PSI. GOOD LUCK CHEAPEST PLACE FOR A PUMP AND FILTER IS ADVANCE AUTO PARTS JUST REPLACED THE ONE IN MY TAHOE.
