Question about 1999 Ford F150 Regular Cab
Truck looses power and shuts down while drivin. Truck will crank right back up.
Is your Check Engine light coming on or Temp gauge reading too hot? This vehicle has a fail-safe feature that when overheating is sensed, the engine will stop firing in 1/2 the cylinders so these become air pumps cooling the engine - this is what causes the loss of power. If you don't pull over and stop the engine to let it cool down, the engine will cut itself off automatically to prevent engine damage.
