How to reset brainbox on 2001 Volkswagen Passat. We changed the brainbox on my car and it will not crank.

If you are in reference to the computer,it has to be reflashed by the dealer,,the vehicle will have to go to the dealer.If you are talking about the ignition module,it does not need resetting,or programing.

PASSAT WONT START ALL THE TIME. NO CODES


sounds like a Crank Position sensor. It's hitting at random instead of in tune with where the crank is at any given time. So I say "Yep" to your question "Maybe a new crank sensor?" : )

Where is the diagnostic port located on my 2001 passat 5 sp. auto V6?


On the old Volkswagen Passat B5 (MY 1997-2001) the Data Link Connector (DLC) or diagnostic port is placed on the right side of the parking brake lever, under a small rectangle rubber cover. See pictures below:

On the new Volkswagen Passat B5 (after MY 2001) the Data Link Connector (DLC) or diagnostic port is placed on the panel above pedals. See pictures below:

Is there only 1 reverse light on a passat
