Question about 2001 Kia Rio

Can anyone plz tell me where the fuel pump is on a 2001 kia rio and if its easy to clean cos when i am drivin the car seems to not want to go faster then when i drop gear the car picks up speed as normal av been told to clean fuel pump or carburator so the fuel isnt bein blocked by dirt ect.

It is in the middle of the back seat under the lower section of the seat. You have to remove the back seat ower section and you will see it. I would replace it instead of cleaning it since you are already there. Plus if it is doing this it will probably go out completely anyway according to the mechanics I have talked to.

there can be few things...first thing first
is your car missing...if yes then check plugs, any bad wire

- check for dirty fuel injectors (have u ever cleaned fuel tank) if ok then
- if u have easy access to intank fuel pump, replace its filter..
- check for bad TPS... if ok then
- check for bad O2 sensor

A bad PTS might be the culprit...

Check for vacuum leaks. Also make sure that the EGR system is not stuck.

I have a 2001 Rio 145,000. It started losing power (speed) taking off , then it just died, tried starting but would not turn motor, got it home and the starter was working but the car would not...


test for fuel from fuel pump check for spark from plugs check all fuses if not getting spark replace coil pack if not getting fuel replace fuel pump

maybe your fuel pump stop working or a blown fuse for the fuel pump or ignition coil. First checked for blown fuses

Are you positive its the fuel pump? Have you tried running the pump with the return line off to see if it pumps fuel? They don't always have to make a noise.

Try replacing or swapping fuel pump relay its in the main fuse box close to the battery
