Question about Volkswagen Jetta

2 Answers

I have a 2006 jetta tdi and can't find the manual. i've read what you've been saying - that the owners manual would be wrong anyway. i need to replace the fuse that blows the heat. my heated seats are fine, as well as my rear defroster, but i'm not getting anything out of my front defroster or air vents. Any advice?

Hi, fuse location #25 is your fresh air blower circuit. To proceed any further you will have to use a meter and conduct other tests. The climate door may also be stuck or not operating.

My 2006 vw jetta tdi lost power and died wont restart am told need code to restart but dont have right code

You will have to have the fault codes read by a code reading machine . That will tell you why the engine stopped. I am suggesting that you check to see if the cam shaft is turning when you try to start it as the timing belt may be broken. Repair/replace items listed by the codes -reset the CPU with the code reader

Have a 2002 jetta tdi it won't start and makes a sound like its backfiring what could be wrong

High enough mileage (you didn't say) and a lack of having the timing belt changed at recommended intervals in the owners manual. You really should do this, it isn't just a optional suggestion, they really mean they need to be changed. I always tell people "it is easier and cheaper to drive the vehicle in to have the timing belt changed at your scheduled convenience than it is to be stranded and towed in to have it replaced at your extreme inconvenience". Some makes (Nissan in particular) have interference engines where a broken belt often results in valves being open when the still turning crank drives pistons into them, bending or breaking them. If the timing has jumped it could very well backfire as would a valve hanging open.

I just bought a used tdi jetta 2006 at what milage should the timing belt be replaced??? always owned trucks never had to worry about this before

I would look in the owners manual, but I would say every 90K miles. Be sure to use VW spec oil. Very important to use the correct oil.

Looking for location of interior fuse box on 2006 VW Jetta TDI

On drivers side of dash. The edge that would be covered by door when it is closed. There should be a picture in you owners manual. There is a small cut out on bottom that you stick a screw driver in to pry open.

Can I download an owners manual for a 2006 VW Jetta somewhere? I have a light on that looks like an engine, but the car seems to run fine.

owners manuals are available at dealer only . manual would not tell you why light is on . will have to plug scanner in to car to tell what is wrong .
