My Toyota 2arfe 2.5 camry has a ticking noise until the motor gets hot. this motor does not have lifters. What is the cause of this tick and what is the repair process?

It has cam followers which are the same thing as lifters except they push down and lifters push up, so yes the tick is likely a bad cam follower.

How do i fix my 2001 740i bmw it makes a ticking sound win idleing

could possibly be a lifter tapping (Ticking) ,depending on how many miles the vehicle has on it might be time for lifters to be adjusted, most foreign overhead cam engines must have lifters adjuster periodically ,if you turn on the air its puts more of a load on the engine causing a louder sound (also check oil level an engine low on oil will start to tick too.. the more wear the engine gets the looser the lifters can get over time ,look in your service manual if you have one and see what the intervals are on lifter adjustment this can give you an idea.
possible only if
the ticking sound is coming from the top of the engine usually comes from under the vavle covers where the lifters are located,

Engine ticking on cold startup

There are additives for the oil that frees sticking lifters. Try putting some in the oil first. If that doesn't work then you'll have to replace all the lifters . Never just replace just one.

My engine lifters tick when i first start it up then it goes away does not do it every start up

it probably has hydraulic lifters, they can wear and bleed down sometimes and will tick until the air pumps out of them, this can also happen if the engine is over reved or raced.
An oil change can sometimes help, if it gets worse a new set of lifters may be necessary.

When i spped up my truck makes a ticking sound ..what could that be?

It is more than likely the lifters ticking. After a lot of miles then the hydraulic lifters don't hold oil pressure and start ticking. Engines will run for a very long time with the lifters ticking. I have a 1972 Nova that the lifters have ticked on for about 10 years and it still runs fine.

Engine ticking, The engine has a tick in it sounds like a lifter possibly. The car has 208000 miles on it.

SOUND LIKE WORN LIFTERS OR DIRT TRAPPED LIFTERS.YOU CAN TRY CHANGE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER.YOU CAN PUT A BOTTLE OF LIFTER QUIETNER.BLEND SOME IN CRANKCASE DONT OVERFILL.IT WILL CLEAN AND FREE UP LIFTERS.IF LIFTERS STILL NOISEY.YOU HAVE TO REPLACE CAMSHAFT + LIFTERS + BEARINGS DEPEND ON HOW BAD WORN.

Either low oil pressure, weak oil pump, or bad or stuck camshaft lifters.

YOU NEED TO ISOLATE TICK TO FRONT OR REAR BANK OF ENGINE..A MECHANIC'S STETHOSCOPE CAN HELP YOU ISOLATE..THEN REMOVE FRONT OR REAR VALVE COVER AND PUSH ON EACH ROCKER ARM..IF A LASH ADJUSTER(LIFTER)IS BAD,IT WILL BE SOFT OR COMPRESS WHEN YOU PUSH ON IT..LIFTERS ARE IN ROCKER ARMS ON A 3.0L AND IN BLOCK ON 3.3 AND 3.8L ENGINES
