The hot water line from the engine goes through a valve that is controled by the temp control on your dash, older ones were cable control, the newer ones are usually vacuum controled, look for a vacuum leak at valve or dash control
Testimonial: "thank you for your quick respnse. the fan quit working last night. just hit the box under the dash a few times and it started blowing. "
If the temp gauge shows the engine is
warm, your t-stat should be ok. First check your coolant level, then
check to make sure your heater core isnt clogged. Do this by running
the engine with the heat on for a while, then shut it off and feel the
hoses that lead to the heater core, be careful they do get hot. If one
hose is hot and the other isnt the heater core is clogged, if they're
both hot, its ok. If the heater core is ok then check your controls to
make sure the temp door inside the vehicle is moving. Do this by listen
for the movent while you turn the knob, or by feel of the air force it
should change while being switched. If your vehicle has rear heat it
may also be an issue with the hot water bypass valve, located under the
vehicle near the passenger door.
