I put it on the abs computer and it said it was the left speed sensor also. But ive changed this sensor 3 times. It fixes it for a while then a month or so later the same problem over and over... Is the sensor tone ring in the bearing or on the side axle. If the ring is internal to the bearing have you replaced the bearing when you replaced the sensor (sold as one unit normally, aftermarket). If the tone ring is external, check it for cracks or loose fit on the axle. Also the wiring integrity of the sensor from the connector in the wheel wheel back to the EBCM (electronic brake control module) should be checked as well. hope this will help you

Did you find a successful fix? I have the exact same problem. I replaced the driver's side wheel speed sensor and the problem resurfaced a week later. The brakes pulsate when they shouldn't, especially if I go over a bump. The ABS and traction control light come on, but it resets when you turn the car off.

You did not mention rotors but that could be the source of the grinding. The pulsating probably is traceable to your ABS and traction control syatems

I have a 2005 Equinox. The abs and tc light are on. Also there is an occaisional sound and vibration when I press on the brakes going at a slow rate of speed. The local Chevy dealer test drove the...

Have a competent mechanic scan the codes in the ABS control. A common fail point of the 2005 Equinox is the wire harness jumper for the drivers front wheel sensor. This is a foot and a half long jumper that connects the wheel sensor to the engine compartment wire harness. It is rigidly held in place by a couple of plastic stays that create a pinch flex point just beneath the lower stay where wheel turn moves the wire against this rigid point. After about 60-80k miles, the wire begins to break down in the insulator and false wheel speed readings are read as false wheel slip indications while the ABS system tries to modulate brake pressure. This modlation creates the grinding feel. After an amount of time, the ABS computer "recognizes" this as a fault and shuts ABS and traction control off since both systems use the wheel spin input, and the dash lights light.
Although this is a pretty pricey part at a dealer, a genuine Delco replacement part can be found online often at a much more reasonable price.

My 2005 Equinox, 53,000 miles, makes a groaning noise shortly after putting it into gear. It happens as the car begins to move and goes about 10 feet. Sometimes it happens when I put it in Drive and ...

My 2 have always made that noise, I'm guessing it has something to do with the ABS charging in preparation for potential use. after a combined total of 240k miles, there has been no noted detrimental effect to this "charging" sound.
Great car.

Abs light is on with another light that has a picture if a tire and in the middle says t/c

t/c stans for traction control. traction control and abs use the same sensors, therefor if 1 sensor is bad, neither options will work. 1 of the wheel sensors must be bad.
