    Thanks for the help!

These two Items seemed to have gone out at the same time. Is that usually the case? Any Idea what I need to do to get to that resister? Must I remove the glove box?

As for the switch you mean pull the bank of switches out for all the Heat and air controls and replace the speed select switch only? I thought you had to buy that whole cluster of three switches?

    Thanks again, much appreciative

There is a blower motor resister that has gone out,it is located next to the blower motor,it mounts with two screws, and has about 7 wires plugged into it.It mounts on the outside of the blower box,but actually goes inside the blower box,so that the blower wheel keeps it cool, this controls all the speeds, except the high setting. As far as the blower delay on start up,check out the fan control switch,it most likely is burned where it plugs up.The blower motor is what causes this situation, even if the blower seems fine,it is pulling to many amps,I hope this was helpful, please let us know if it was, thank you.

You need to look at the back of the control unit, for a burned spot on the connector plug.

How do you know if your blower resistor is bad?

Unlikely a blower motor resistor problem. If the resistor is faulty. the fan speeds will not work/fail on the lower speeds. High speed will normally always work. If the fan is non operational suspect a fan motor issue.Bad fan motor/switch/wiring to it

97 Gmc Sierra my heat only works on high heat sometimes or it doesn't work at all i changed the blower motor and it still doesn't work

You should have a high speed blower relay that provides power on high, and the other speeds go thru a resistor.
The problem could be the actual fan control switch, or the resistor.

Cool fan low doesn't work. Doesn't appear to be

It needs to have the blower motor resistor card replaced.
It still works on high speed because on the high setting the voltage does not go through the resistor.
The resistor is mounted beside the blower motor and is easy to replace.
There you are, thank you for using FixYa.

Heater fan blower only functions on high speed?

the resistor for the blower motor is faulty, its either integrated into the switch (speed selector) or its on the firewall somewhere, where ever it is, it has to be replaced.

2005 yukon blower fan works intermittently

The speed switch for your fan is probably bad, GM is bad for this. When you turn your fan on, slowly go from low to high to see if there is a difference in each. The high normally goes first, then the low, followed by the two other ones. I hope this helps.

Climate control varible speed fan not working

According to the schematics on your vehicle, it has a "Blower motor control processor" either built in to your controls, or in line between your controls and blower motor. Yo may get real lucky and find some dirty connections in that area, and get away with cleaning & re-connecting, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too high. You may end up replacing the processor, as it regulates fan/blower speed.
