You will need a special tool to get in and behind the fitting which will release the fitting from the tube.I would go to your auto parts store and see if they have the correct tool for your job.

Truck doesn't heat while idling

Could be low on antifreeze. The heater core is the highest spot in the cooling system and it may develop an air pocket. Another possibility is the thermostat is stuck partially open and doesn't let the engine warm correctly, watch your temp gauge on the dash and see if it comes up to the middle like it should while idling. If it doesn't, it may need replacement.

Most likely it is a clogged heater core. Have your heater core reverse flushed or your blend door is stuck open.

backwash your heater core. there are two heater hoses usually 3/4 inch i.d. find out witch one is the return and disconnect both. then take a hose and pressurize the return to flush out core. good luck

Replacing heater core in 03 dodge ram pick up truck 4 door with 5.7 engine

Hello,

STEP 1 Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.

STEP2 Remove the instrument panel. STEP 3. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system,

step 4 Disconnect the liquid line refrigerant line fitting from the evaporator inlet tube. Install plugs in, or tape over all of the opened refrigerant line fittings.

step 5 Disconnect the accumulator inlet tube refrigerant line fitting from the evaporator outlet tube.Install plugs in, or tape over all of the opened refrigerant line fittings.

step 6 Drain the engine cooling system.

STEP 7 Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater-tubes.Install plugs in, or tape over the opened core tubes. Remove the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) from the dash panel and set it aside, but do not unplug the PCM wire harness connectors.

STEP 8 Remove the nuts from the heater-A/C housing mounting studs on the engine compartment side of the dash panel.

STEP 9
Remove the nuts that secure the heater A/C housing to the mounting studs on the passenger compartment side of the dash panel Pull the heater A/C housing rearward far enough for the mounting studs and the evaporator condensate drain tube to clear the dash panel holes. Remove the heater A/C housing from the vehicle. STEP 10
Remove the screws and retainers that secure the heater core to the heater-A/C housing. Lift the heater core straight up and out of the heater-A/C housing.

Male fitting on heater core inlet broke off in hose

RKmastertech is incorrect. That plastic fitting is seperate from the aluminum heater core and can be removed by means of a special quick disconnect tool, like OTC 6046. Rock auto has the fitting for $5 plus shipping, just for a reference.

My heater on my 2001 mercury sable isn't working.. It will blow warm air for about 2 minutes and then goes cold again

I had the same problem with my sable. You need a heater blend door. The one on your car is stuck and wore out. The replacement part costs about fifty-two dollars, labor will be more like about one hundred dollars if you take it to a dealership.good Luck
