You should make sure that the car has the right amount of antifreeze, to stop the water in the engine from freezing up, it's quite cheap and any garage should be able to this for you.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My 2001 izuzu trooper only engages forward in winter mode, but reverse works fine. Besides that it runs great im sure hoping its something simpler rather than a rebuild? Please help!!

you skipped all steps.
1: check levels first.
2: check fuses, 2nd/ we test them and not guess.
3: SCAN it, seems you skipped the most important step

if you dont scan it you dont get to see why the TCM is unhappy
not ever.
so scan it,, what more needs to be know.
the service manual is clear, did you read that yet?
on car tests, Automatic.

winter mode skips 1st./
so if winter mode works, that means , TCM may not be selecting
1st for some reasons, scanning it you get to see that.
why does every post here, fear scan tools.
odd.

What makes my 95 volvo 960 jump into winter mode

Did you spill water in that little Economy/Sport switch? It pops out relatively easily so maybe get a replacement switch from the junk yard and replace it and try again?

Or do you have something hanging/dangling that would hit the button inadvertently?

My clutched slipped twice .might need to replaced the clutch completely ? if I do how much would the part be?

Standard or Auto?
And are you driving in winter conditions..... sometimes the cold weather can mess with the slave cyclinder causing a clutch to 'slip'. Mine did this already this winter for a half day then totally worked fine again.
You would 'feel' something different when you push in your clutch.... like stiffer than usual.

Every winter my check engine light comes on. In the past, and this winter, the code it gives says my engine is running lean. In the past, I have had my oxygen sensors replaced 3 times and my mass airflow...

leaky head gaskets are the cause for the engine light. the rpm (tach) meter flutters mostly because of an ignition coil going bad and or the signal from the distributor.

Should I use 10w30 or 10w40 oil

If you live in cold climate I would recommend 10w30 for winter use, it's a bit thinner and will start better. However if the truck is used hard, such as for towing loads I would use the 10w40. If you live in a warm climate I would use 10w40 all the time.

2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse won't start in the winter...(15,000km)

Try using a fuel treatment. Sometimes water builds up in the lines and makes it hard for the car to start cuz you can't combust something thats frozen... I'd recommend Lucas Fuel Treatment... either that, or maybe new spark plugs, though if the dealer thought they were fine, I don't think that's the case.

Antil Lock Brake and ETS dash lights stay on.

The brake tech may have done something wrong or damaged a wheel sensor, take it back, if the problem started after the work on the brakes it is a safe bet they did something to cause the problem, one note as long as those warning lights are on the ABS and traction assist are disabled, no problem in dry weather, winter another thing.
