So upon startup the car has a little smoking going out the tailpipe? Then it goes away after the car warms up a little? You probably have stuck piston rings and are burning oil at first until the car warms up and the rings seal better. What kind of oil are you using? What weight is it? I don't know what is in the car, but if it is conventional oil at 10w-30, try changing it to synthetic and using 5w-30. I don't know what that car comes with from factory or calls for, but in my experience I've stopped oil burning in a piston engine with thinner, synthetic oil. This helps to unstick the rings allowing them to seal better AND the thinner oil doesn't collect on the rings so much, keeping it from burning or going out the tailpipe. Also, synthetic doesn't burn and carbonize like convention oil (dinosaur juice) does.

I really hope I understood your problem and helped you with it. If not, please clarify. Good luck!

Have LT 1536 . Smoke started coming out the exhaust but engine sounds healthy

Depends on the colour of the smoke.
Unlikely an engine will sound healthy emitting black smoke - excess fuel.

An engine could sound healthy emitting white smoke (steam from coolant) but not from white smoke (excess unburned diesel).

Most engines emitting blue or blue-grey smoke from burning engine oil can sound very healthy.

Low power, blue smoke, engine cutting

blue smoke indicates oil is burning in the cylinders. This is either leaky valve seals, (little blue smoke when engine first starts, but stops smoking shortly after) or the worse problem, worn rings. What happens is when your rings are worn, they let oil get past the rings and into the combustion chamber, AND it also lets out your combustion pressure (your power source) into the crankcase, so you have considerable power loss. Only way to fix worn rings is to rebuild the engine, as just replacing the rings would require complete teardown of engine anyways, and who wants new rings in a worn out motor.

Occasional heavy smoke on tickover, but not using oil and oil clean.

HI do you now the color of the smoke
if engine emits white smoke its not burning the fuel
it could be water mixing with fuel = head gasket even tho you
dot have water in the oil
if engine emits black smoke - that's excessive fuel to air ration
check air filter & air inlet to see if clogged

if engine emits blue smoke - excessive oil consumption
cloud be valve seals

Volvo 850 smoke coming from exhaust manifold

Not to worry. Run the engine up to operating temp before jumping to conclusions and let the heat burn off any excess oil. A leaf will not do any damage.Do not let the engine overheat while idling and if the oil light comes on switch off immediately.
The smoke from the exhaust is oil deposited by oily assembly hands just burning off. It should dissipate after about 15 minutes at most.(or 5 miles' drive)

I have a 1994 Lexus ES300 that emits a little bit of smoke when started when it is cold and also emits a oil or rubber smell through the air vents when it is warming up. The mileage is 92500. Can anyone...

Hi!
This is possibly due to Crankcase compression, worn piston rings allowing gasses into crankcases forcing a haze of oil out of the breather pipe which is usually located on the air filter or manifold.
You can remove this and relocate it away from the engine, remember to try and filter the gasses.
