My 2000 Chrysler 300m wont start it turns over but wont fire its getting gas but wont fire

Are you certain it's getting gas, does it smell flooded?
Pull one of the plugs, see if its wet after cranking.
Ground plug and check for spark, if no spark, problem could be crank sensor or coil packs.

Check under the hood on the side of the fuel rail, the fuel pressure regulator value, this is a common problem.

My engine wont crank like as if the engine is do i clean a flooded engine? it smells like gasoline on my spark plugs when i took them out...please help out of ideas....ive checked...

If the engine truely is flooded, you need to let the vehical sit. The more you try to start the car, the more gas you are pumping into the engines. If you let the vehical sit, some gas will drain out. Hope this helps! Please rate 4 thumbs up!

I have a 2000 cavalier with a 2.2 and it turns over, slight smell of gas, but not very strong as if it was flooding, but will not fire at all. What could be the problem?

You could possibly have a gas leak or some unignited gas when first turning on your car. This could be due to poor spark plugs or other factors. I recommend checking the ground for gasoline after you start up your car. If this problem continues, find professional help. With gas prices this high, you can't afford to lose any more gasoline!

My 1991 grand marquis wont crank, it was running great on friday then sat morning it just spending i smell gas when im trying to crank it. i was thinking it as jump time

It may have jumped time. However, if you smell gasoline, it got flooded. Here is the lay of the land.
If it cranks, as in turning over but not starting. And you smell gasoline. The fuel is good, but there is not electrical spark going to the plugs. Bad coil. Cracked distributor cap. Moisture under the cap. Check this before you worry about the timing. You first have to test for ignition. Also don't pump the gas when starting it. See what happens. Also when the car is warm, never pump the gas. Also check the wire going from the distributor cap to the coil.
Good luck,
Hope this helps,

sounds flooded, hold gas pedal to floor and try to start,if starts keep pedal down until motor clears out and runs good, if no start, check spark plugs. maybe fuel fouled and need replaced. make sure you have spark before installing new plugs.

Wont start, sprayed quick start in still nothing, smell gas and can hear the fuel pump engauge

You need to check for spark. You probably do not have spark causing the engine to flood. Check your ignition parts and see what shape they are in. If you have not had a tune up in 50,000 miles you may want to start there.

Where is the gas leaking from? To clear a flooded engine, keep your foot all the way down on the gas pedal while you try to start the car. As it starts keep holding until it sounds like it's smothing out then slowly release. You can also change the spark plugs if that does not work.
