You have a vacuum leak, most likely the hose that goes to the PCV valve. One end of it has a 90 degree bent rubber fitting that always rots out. Check this first, it's a very common problem

I forg.ot to mention, if you open the hood with the engine running, you should be able to hear the leak hissing loudly.

Smart car kangaroos and stops when I am trying to get out of tight car park. I may be activating the hill assist brake by holding foot brake pedal?

Hello again,

Please note that the Smart car is equipped with an auto brake system where if you remove your foot off the brake pedal , it will not disengage till you press the gas pedal , other wise you might have a problem .
Please try with out having your foot over the brake pedal and get back to us.

Noise when i take ma foot off the accelerator especially when on 80km/h and above

This noise pattern is an indicator of bearing failure on the diff pinion. It also a problem with the u-joints and cv joints. I would check the magnetic plug on the diff first looking for metal bits.

Engine running rough on take off

Under load on take off from a stop or under heavy acceleration when already in motion could be one or more spark plug wires breaking down/misfiring.
You may be able to duplicate by opening hood, have someone set park brake and hold foot hard on regular brake pedal, block wheels also and press on gas pedal to simulate the loaded condition. Stand off to side, not in front of van and see if the engine misses and you may hear a snapping as the spark arc to ground. More common on the 3.3 engine.

Will a worn out motor mount make the van idle rough or vibrate the car?

Have somebody stand in front of van with the hood open and watch the motor while you start the van.Put the emergency brake on and your foot on the brake, shift into D keeping your foot on the brake with your other foot give the engine a little gas and watch the motor. If a motor mount is broke the motor will lift up a little on the broken side.Be careful!

My warning light comes on when i push on the brake, when i take my foot off the brake it goes out. 98 winstar van seams to be stopping fine.what should i do?

Check the level of the brake fluid. It's likely low and needs topping up. As your brakes wear more fluid goes into the lines to compensate for the wear. You will probably need to replace brake pads soon. Hope this helps.

I have a 1995 chevy van g20 5.7 8 cylinder the van burns a lot of gas, a rich gas smell coming from thr tail pipe. when i stop the van and i accelerate again i get a flat spot. i put the van in drive and...

You might have a shorted injector driver. Disconnect the injector harness from that cylinder and connect a noid light or a high impedance test light and start the engine. If the light stays on instead of blinking, then the injector driver in the PCM is shorted and replacement will be required.

Volvo s80 auto 2.4 when stood in drive and foot on brake transmission goes in and out of drive.Ihave fitted a new brake light switch

its supposed to do that, its a gas mileage/transmission wear thing. there is a reprogram that only the dealer can perform that will make it less noticable. but it is no harm, unless the car wont go when you press on the gas

make sure you have all screw's and if any bolt's them out , then you have to start from bottom and pry off ( if needed ) . some times you can just lift off . best bet get a repair book ( part store or free at library ) .
