Not true. Your heater resistor is at fault and needs to be replaced.

My 1995 Nissan Sentra heater fan only worked on high, so I replaced the blower motor resister and now it only works on the first 3 settings. Any idea why?

did you install the right resistor, or the resistor is defective, many problems with aftermarket resistors, try a dealer resistor.

Heater motor will only work on high speed all other control positions do not work. Would this be anything to do with a fuse possibly 2002 Nissan Sentra

no, it is a part called the blower motor resistor. you will likely need to buy it at the dealer. it is not very difficult to change, it is located at the airbox (under the dash passenger side).

The heater blower in my 2002 sentra is only woking when on the highest setting...do you know what the problem could be?

The blower resistors have gone bad and needs to be replaced.

The 2002 Nissan Sentra blower motor resistor is located near the blower motor itself, which can be found under the dashboard, on the passenger side of the car.

To access it, you have to remove the glove compartment and the isolation panel that covers the bottom of the blower. Do the following steps:

  1. first, locate and open the glove compartment on the passenger side;
  2. remove the four upper screws and slide the door lock bracket out;
  3. pull out the two pins at the inner bottom corners of the compartment;
  4. take out the glove compartment assembly;
  5. remove the two screws retaining the isolation panel and slide the later out.
Looking under the dashboard, you can now see the blower motor and, on its left side, near the firewall, the resistor block brown connector.

To take out the blower motor resistor:
  1. remove the white plastic bracket that faces it;
  2. unplug the brown connector;
  3. remove the two screws on the resistor's socket;
  4. pull the resistor block out.
The resistor block is actually a PCB ("Printed Circuit Board"). The traces printed on this board have different electrical resistance, and are used by the control assembly to vary the speed of the blower fan.

I believe Auto Zone or Parts Source has the blower resistor you need. Good luck

Where is the blower resistor on a 2001 Nissan Sentra?

Its actually not that bad to change. If you open the glove box and remove the screws then the screws along the bottom of the glove box at the bottom of the dash the box will slide out. Remember to disconnect the light if it has one. Now you will be able to see the underside of the dash. You can see a large black box that has wires and vacuum lines all over. You need to locate a small flat plate with two screws and a plug in the middle. Disconnect the plug and remove the screws. The resistor will come straight out. The back side will look like small coiled up springs of different sizes. Install in reverse.Hope this helps. Good luck. Please re-post with updates. Thanks cj2176.

2002 Nissan Altima - Heat doesn't get hot and doors get stuck

Did the switch break because it was stuck? If so, then yes, they will have to change actuators and doors. Does the fan work on all speed setting? If so then you do not need a blower resistor. The resistor pack only controls the current flow to change speeds of the fan.

My heater blower is not working.

Have you checked the fuse . If it's not the fuse then check the fan speed resistor? If the resistor is partially burnt out, you should still have at least one other fan speed. ( In my case I had only the high speed.) The resistor is mounted on the Air box and where the fan wire is connected to. Its behind the glove box and easy to find. Remove the glove box by undoing two hinge pins. Rotate the hinge pins upwards and slide them out. The glove box will drop out and you have access to the resistor. Unplug the wiring connector from the resistor and using a multi tester check the continuity. Replace resistor if faulty. Hope it works for you.

Sounds like your ballast resistor is out for the blower motor. You said that you only had 1 speed or off when you turned the fan on. The fan's speeds are made possible by a separate resistor installed on the heater box. The dash switch itself will only work at one speed when the resistor isn't functioning; and eventually the switch will burn out too. The resistor is much easier to change out than the blower motor was, and cheaper too. You can find it on the heater core/blower box by the passenger side footwell You can order the resistor for around $25.00 from a Nissan dealer, the switch itself costs about the same, verses around $90 for the blower motor.. It took me all of 20 minutes to change them out in my Nissan. I really hope you kept your receipt for the new blower motor, because it was probably fine. I'm not sure what you mean about the automated seat belt fuse. I know there is a sensor in each seat that causes the seatbelt indicator light to flash until you plug the belt in. There are 2 wiring harnesses, one for the seat that can tell when weight is on the seat, the other one shuts off the dash indicator when you plug the belt clasp in. Good luck...
