I would check to see that your front axle joints are good at the wheels and in the front drive shaft

2000 4.7 dodge dakota with dual overhead cams; the engine is knocking; what can i do to fix this problem and what would be the best way to take the moter out if that's needed.

If you are going to fix it yourself, I would go ahead and buy a book. It sounds like worn bearings or oil pump. Depending on the mileage and the condition you may be better off with a rebuilt replacement.

Why do i still hear a knocking noise in the water pump, when i just changed it. also my coolant pressure cap hoes that connects to the radiator blew off while i was driving, why would that happen after i...

Maybe it's not the water pump that is making the knocking noise.

Water pumps generally don't make knocking noises.

It could have a spun camshaft or main bearing if you hear a loud metal to metal knocking noise.

The coolant pressure cap hose that connnects to the radiator:
Is this an overflow hose that leads to an overflow tank? If so, the hose may have a restriction in it.

Loses power after it warms up. Has a knock like low on oil. Have to down shift to lower gear to get power. 1987 Dodge Dakota 4 cyc, standard shift

When you are low on oil you should hear an engine "ticking" noise at the top of the motor. If you hear an engine "knock" or repeated thud with a metallic sound, your engine will very likely require a significant repair or replacement. There is another possibility that you could have a broken timing chain but normally the engine would not stay running if that is the case. I would suggest you have an engine shop mechanic (not dealership) diagnose the knock and estimate a repair.

The engine knocks at higher rpm, only at high rpms

First no matter what check the oil level and then if it's a high rev tapping you need to allow the oil to flow through the engine block to try to coat and settle your valves.

But if it's really " knocking " sounds like your lifters and rocker arms are allowing your piston rods to clatter and that needs to be looked into fast.

Blower motor in 1993 dodge dakota

u must have knocked the vacuum hose off when u changed the motor, that (vacuum) is what moves the air to the different outlets, the vacuum comes from the engine and enters the cab on the passenger side..

01 dodge dakota magnum v8 seems to have knocking sound coming from centre of engine, when rpm is increased, noise gets louder, what could this be.

If it's cold you could have what they call pistion slap and most of the time the noise goes away when things are at there opperating temprature. If your only get it when your accelerating and the motor is hot, it's eather your timing chain is stretch and time for a new one and worst it could be your rod pin's are worn. Try adding some lucas oil and see if that help's. If it does then it's just a worn engine and just need not to push it too hard. good luck
