Question about 1987 Jeep Wrangler

1 Answer

I am not getting fuel to the throttle body. The pressure is at 0. If I dump gas into the throttle body, it will start and then I have pressure and stay running. I did this a couple of times and after that it would start up about three different times (morning, night and morning). Now I can't get it to start at all and the pressure gauge is on 30 psi.(does want to though). Thought it was the relay, but then found out that it was the fan control one that we would mess with. Any ideas on what to try? THANKS

Engine cut off while driving down the highway why?

Fuel pump may be failing. Check fuel pressure at injector rail. If pressure is good and stays good, suspect fuel pump relay may be getting weak.

Where is the Mercruiser fuel regulator valve

The regulator valve dumps excess fuel back to the tank not the throttle body. I would be checking the injector seals. If the regulator is not doing the job of regulating the fuel pressure it will have either too much pressure or not enough (misfiring). So check for any other means that the fuel can get to the throttle body.

97 gmc siera on cold days have to dump fuel into throttle body to start, runs fine after??

look into throttle body while cranking.see if you see fuel spray.if not, low fuel pressure of pluged fuel filter. also coolant temp or tps sensor could be at fault.have vehicle sensors scan tested for values..

I have a 1992 camaro RS 305 with 5 speed. It will turn over but won't start, if you pour gas in throttle body it will fire right up and run like it should. I put in new fuel pump, new ECU, new TPS, still...

If you turn the key to the on position and you hear the fuel pump run, does it run for longer then 5 seconds? If so then you are going to need to look at your fuel filter, if it stays running then you are going to need to look at your fuel regulator. You can also go to Auto Zone and buy a fuel pressure test kit or rent one, and check your fuel pressure on the fuel rails. Check for spark also, if you are low on spark then you are not going to fire, unless you dump more fuel then you need to into the throttle body.

After you dump the fuel in the throttle body it will continue to run on its own or die as soon as it burns up all the fuel you dump in? Do you have access to (Noid lights)? Are both plugs attached to the distributor?
