  1. Remove the manual door crank handle, if equipped with manual windows. Pry the handle slightly forward to reveal the retaining ring holding it to the door crank arbor. Use the retaining ring pliers to spread and then remove the ring. Slide the door crank handle off.
  2. Unscrew the door lock button if equipped with manual door locks. Turn the plastic button counterclockwise to unscrew it from the lock shaft.
  3. Locate and remove the two panel retaining screws. One is located in the hand cup of the arm rest and the other is located in the door handle bezel. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws. If a panel plug is concealing the hand cup screw, pry it off with a straightedge screwdriver.
  4. Gently pry away the window control module for power windows, if equipped, from the arm rest. Use the pry tool for leverage. Unplug the wire harness connections from beneath the module and then set it aside.
  5. Remove the molding in the upper front corner of the door/window assembly covering the side-view mirror by prying it off of the door frame. Use the pry tool to gently unseat it.
  6. Gently pry the bottom of the door panel away from the door frame using the small pry tool. Retaining snap-clips hold the door to the frame and need to be unseated from the retainers. Work your along the bottom and then up each side until the panel is free from the door frame. Stabilize the panel an inch or so away from the frame.
  7. Reach behind the door frame and disconnect any other wire harness connections. Different year Trackers with different powered options may include harnesses for the power mirror and the speaker.
  8. Disconnect the door handle rod from the door handle to disengage the door panel. Move the door panel 45 degrees to release the door handle mechanism from the panel and then remove the panel. Replacement of the panel requires reversing the procedure.

How do you remove passenger sliding door handle on oldsmobile silhouitte

The process of removing car door panels is essentially the same for each make of car. You may need to remove these panels when your fixing locks or power windows, replacing window cranks, installing speakers or replacing the side mirrors. Learning how to remove the panels yourself can save money on simple car repairs.

  • Set of screwdrivers

  • Small flashlight
  • Ratchet and socket

Check out how the door panels are attached to the car. Most panels use screws and bolts but others have snap-in fittings. Gather all the tools you need for removing the door panels. If the panel is attached with screws and bolts, you need a screwdriver or ratchet and socket. Car door panels with snap-in fittings are easily removed with a flathead screwdriver.

    • 2

Locate where the screws and bolts are before starting. These are usually found in the arm rest area, along the bottom or sometimes near the door lights.

    • 3

Roll down the car door window. Begin removing all screws and bolts that hold the door panel onto the car. If your car has snap-in fittings, pry gently on the bottom corner of the door panel until the fittings pop out.

    • 4

Remove the power window control panel if your car has power windows. The control panel should pry out easily, and then you unplug the wiring harness from the back and place it to the side.

    • 5

Use an L pick and flashlight when locating a manual window crank. Look behind the window crank and slide the pick under the edge of the metal clip that holds the crank in place. Remove the clip and pull the crank off.

    • 6

Remove the door handle by unscrewing the small screw located in the center. Gently pull the door handle out until you see the back of the handle and unclip the rod from the door handle. This should remove the handle unless the handle and door lock are attached, then you just unclip the rod from the lock and remove them both together.

    • 7

Unscrew the cap off rear upper corner door panel locks. These don't have a rod attaching them to the handle and unscrew separately from the door handle.

    • 8

Pop the door panel off after you've removed everything. Gently pry on the bottom edge of the door panel until it releases. Pull out and up to completely remove the door panel.

How do i remove the inside driver door panel to a 99 saturn sl1 with crank windows my window is stuck down and i cant get the window crank off

the best part about having a Saturn is that you don't need to. have a look and your going to remove the outside panel around the door. the one that's painted the color of the car. the panels in thees are easily replaced and removed and this will allow access to windows. (kinda crazy and different than any other make but Saturn knows what makes seance and did it well.

Need a diagram of how the door panel comes off of a 95 chevy blazer. I need to remove the door panel to fix the lock assembly. Need to know if there are clips at the bottom of the door, or just the screws.

There will always be clips attached to the panel from the inside-after screw removal and window crank removal (window crank on mostly earlier models) You can start at a bottom edge with what i recommend a door panel removal tool-most auto parts store carry these. even if a clip falls out you can reinsert it.Also the door removel tool doubles as a window crank clip remover.

Removing door panel of manual crank 2000 VW Beetle

Your window crank is held on by a clip at the base of the crank handle. You need a small hook (kind of like a knitting needle) to get behind the base and pull the clip off of the crank.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.

Inside door handle doesn't work (removing the driver side panel)

If you have power windows start by disconnecting your negative battery cable. Then you need to locate and remove the screws that hold your door handles in place (they may be hidden by snap in, or snap on clips). Once you remove the screws that hold the door handles, remove any wire connectors to the handles, if they're not power you will need a small hook (kinda like a knitting needle) to remove the window crank. A manual window crank is held in place by a clip on the base. Slide the hook behind the base and remove the clip. The door panel itself, is held on by snap in clips, and you will need a small pry bar to pull them from the door (try to gat as close to, or directly under the clips to prevent them from tearing out of the door panel). Once the clips are removed from the door, pull the panel upward to remove it from the door.

Install in reverse.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.

Rear power window motor broken

1. easy way replace whole door if you can find the right color.
2. find a cranker door at a bone yard take the stuff out and put it in your door. Not very hard at all. All the holes should be there, take a picture with your phone if you cant remember where stuff goes. You may want the inside door panel cause it will have the hole already made for the crank.

1994 vw jetta drivers door window crank inside handle removal(man

You'll see a small ring on the inside of the crank where it meets the panel. That ring holds the crank in place. To remove the handle simple push the ring up and the handle will slide right off. Depending on the position of the crank the ring might have to be pushed up down or sideways. Hope that helps.
