Mazda 2 alarm problem

We bought a Mazda 2 brand new from an agent and sometimes when we lock the door, there is an alarm like sound, but not as loud as I am used to. It sounds like it is the alarm but it is only high pitched, my car's alarm sounds louder. Sometimes it gives problems but sometimes not. The dealer said he will find out what the problem is but it doesn't seem like it is working. If you leave it, it stops after a while but the problem is that everytime you lock the car, the alarm goes off for some time and then stop automatically. Kind of imbarresing. If someone can please help. Thank You.

Hi

I had the same problem with my 10 reg M2 (no prob with my previous 08).
Mazda dealer admitted this was a world wide problem. Mazda themselves had changed supplier for the alarm box(possibly to cut costs). At first the dealer said it would take about a week to get a replacement. A week later changed this to 4-6 weeks, due to demand. I informed them if it wasn't replaced in the next 7 days, they would be getting my vehicle back for good.
Hey presto. One alarm box supplied and fitted in less than 48 hours.
I don't mess around. Previously had a problem with a different car manufacturer. Got the BBC involved, and in less than 1 hour was asked , what colour would you like your new vehicle in SIR.
DONT BE FOBBED OFF.

Help.....our mazda5 alarm keeps going off. Don't think it is an intruder alarm as it is not hugely loud. Hazards flash and noise is loud enough to hear in the house. What could it be? How can we turn off...

If you do not get a better answer than this on this web-site, recommend you call a Mazda dealer and ask them the answer.
God bless your efforts.

1995 Nissan Maxima alarm system

Hey, I bought my 1995 Nissan Maxima GLE brand new back in July 1994 with factory installed alarm, it just doen't make any sound when you arm or disarm it with remote. The only way you can tell whether it is armed or disarmed is from the lever position of your doors and the blinking red light under the dash. Only the newer versions of Nissan/Infiniti's has the "Audio/Silent" mode button on the remote which allows you to activate/deactivate you car alarm with an audiable sound or no sound at all. No worry, there is nothing wrong with your remote or car alarm.

Program remote control for mazda mpv 2002

Courtesy of: forums.mazdaworld.org

Try this, it works on several 2002 models:

Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.

Step 2: Lock and unlock the drivers door using the power door lock switch on the door.

Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.

Step 4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.

Step 5: Open and close the drivers door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).

Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.

Step 7: Press any button on remote #1. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.

Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.

Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done

Possibly battery-related problem with '02 Mazda Protege

It sounds like the car's security system is going off. Is there a key fob to lock/unlock doors and turn on alarm? If there is, connect battery, and immediately press alarm/unlock button to turn alarm off.
I have a truck with an aftermarket alarm system installed by the previous owner, my battery died, and when I hooked up a new one the alarm went off, and it took a while before I hit the key fob button, but it stopped it. Let me know if this works for u.
