Question about Audi TT

1 Answer

My son's Audi TT has a stuck emergency break. We had sleet and snow last night, and it's about 20 out now. Could it be frozen? What do we do? He delivers pizza and needs to get to workl

It is frozen - I would get out there with a hair drier, or a lamp of some kind. Cover the sides to keep wind out and put a good hot lamp under the car.

I would put the heat along the rear wheels. Put blankets over the rear and sides that should let it warm up quickly if you have a good halogen light.

Also start the car and let it idle let the exhaust fumes out, but the muffler / catalytic heat will help.

Your welcome, I hope I was of some help. Tell him to be careful out there.

Emergency brake is stuck on. Dayton Ohio, 16 degrees last night. was stuck on this morn.

As you can guess, don't use the [parking brake in thw winter time. If the cables are frozen, you will have to get it in a garage that is above 32 degrees to thaw them out. If it is just the brake shoes frozen to the drums, you can try rcoking back & forth from drive to reverse a few times. It will break the shoes free of the drums. If the garage is close, you can just add enough gas to get it moving the short distance to the garage. It won't hurt anything to drive 100 feet. The engine should be able to overcome the brakes. Just be a little careful.

Turn Signals quit working

Sounds like the turn signal flasher is going bad. The easy way to find wher the flasher is hidden is turn the turn signal on and find the clicking, that is the flasher. The emergency flashers work fine because they use a different flasher.

Audi tt quattro turn light is not Blinking-stays on

The signal flasher is within the emergency flasher. It will usually make a lot of clicking noise when faulty though. Check all the bulbs on the car for proper operation. Good luck!
