Have the battery tested at any auto parts store. Car batteries a like any other type will go dead if not used for sometime. If a load test upon your battery is 11.5 volts or under its junk status

Steering wheel wont move on a porsche boxter 1999

It should move in and out (it pulls out and pushes in) It doesn't move up and down. Reply back if it won't do either.

Emission light stays on

Hi

very common fault, one of 2 faults

Either the Air mass sensor or MAF sensor as it is known o the Lambda or oxygen sensor, most likely the latter one. Easy job to do on this car unbolt from exhaust and 1 wired clip. here is one on ebay >> http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=porsche+boxter+oxygen+sensor+&_cqr=true&_nkwusc=porshe+boxter+oxygen+sensor&_rdc=1

Hope this helps

I need to replace the headlight bulbs on my 1999 Boxter. Can't see where to do it.

Open the boot at the front, pull the carpet away from the side (you will see a couple of Black clips)
Once carpet pulled back you'll see a rubber bung, remove it and inset a 5mm 1/4 drive socket on a T-bar.

Simply twist and you will hear a click (they can be stiff)

The headlamp will then slide out of the wing complete.

Dead easy..

Have 1999 boxter with dead batt. need to open hood to charge. can you tell me how? thanks, phil

Some remote battery starters, in addition to battery clamps, also have a separate cig. lighter male plug. Inserting this will give you enough juice to reset the alarm and then open the trunk. There are also two terminals down by the manual spoiler switch (in the driver's footwell) that can be wired to a separate battery to do the same.
