Question about 2000 Ford Focus

Car turns over but just will not start or even fire.

    hi from uk could you give a little more info on nont starting ? re did engine suddenly cut out? then failed to start ? any problem prior to this fault occured does engine turn over rapidly indicating battery/starter ok ? have you checked for spark at plugs ? any further info history prior to this happening would help come up with possible diagnosis check you can diy if possible try and obtain an obd scan/diagnose and get the code readout ?

does it turn over and not fire up or not even turn over ?if doesnt turn over try a jump start if does turn over and not fire up i would check for spark at plugs as first step and work your way through the ignition system coil, distributer etc

give it a shot of starting fluid and if it fires it`s fuel if not i`ts spark or something else good luck this will isalate the problem

My car wont start after replacing head gaskets.


Have you cleaned the spark plugs? they will surely be filthy after a headgasket failure... maybe even cracked by the water going on the hot plug... I recommend changing the plugs before trying anything else.

2000 alero won't start. turns over and fires but wont start


make sure your cap and rotor timing is correct double check spark plug routes (mistakes happen). maybe your timing is off in general.

Changed coil pack that wasnt firing started fine


check the fire to the coil pack if it's present then check the pulse to the crank sensor

this sounds like a computer issue or rotor issue- it could be the pick up in distributer electronic pick up in distributer- gets hot then signal won,t travel- cools down then o.k
