On many systems, the abs light comes on if both brake lamps are blown. Have you checked that?

With abs if their is a problem with the system the brake system reverts back to a normal setup such which means hit the brakes hard and truck will skid check connections and wiring for damage or disconnection if looks good have truck scanned some auto stores such as auto zone / advanced auto scan for free check in ur local area the trouble code will give u start point to fix ur problem

Brakes will work but no anti lock, which means if you slam on the brake it will skid, with the abs it doesnt allow it to skid so you will have control and not skid, have the abs computer scanned, there will be a code stored, this will tell you whats wrong. it may just be a sensor thats common on these trucks, hope this helps.

SOURCE: ABS brake light comes on.

No there is no reset, sounds like you have a bad ABS sensor on one of the wheels. Only way to tell is to get it to a brake shop or dealer to check it. Good luck dont forget to rate.

SOURCE: my abs light is always on and now my brake warning light is on but brakes seem to be working fine

The ABS light is a warning that you have an issue with the ABS system. The red brake warning lamp is serious. It is telling you that there is an issue with the base brakes. Your car will be ok with an ABS light, but the red warning lamp could be really dangerous. You should have them checked ASAP. It could be from many causes. A park brake switch, low fluid, the causes are too numerous to list. Please for your safty have it checked. Good Luck

My ABS light is on and my brakes work fine. every once in a while the light goes off and the brakes act like the anti-brake system should. What seems to be the problem?

The warning light is telling the driver the system is disabled. The hydraulic brake system works independently from the ABS altho the ABS does use some hydraulic components.
You would need to have the ABS checked for trouble codes to proceed.

ABS LIGHT IS ON AND CAN NOT GET IT TO GO OFF I HAVE DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND UNPLUGED THE ABS SENSORS BRAKES SEEM FINE NO PROBLEMS JUST LIGHT ON

HI skf450 . Disconnecting battery and sensors doe's not solve your problem.
shore your brakes seem too be working fine put if you had to do a panicked stop your wheel
will lock up and slide .The abs sys stops the wheel from locking up and keeps in control of
your car
If the abs light is on it's too inform you of malefaction in the system .
You must have the abs sys checked by scanner it will tali you what is the problem.
you can have the abs scanned for free at your auto parts store like auto zone.

good luck and be safe

IS it safe to drive your jeep liberty with the ABS light and Brake light on. It seems to be running fine, but I am afraid of doing more damage.

I would not be concerned so much with the ABS light, but the brake light needs to be investigated-does the petal feel the same? Is the brake fluid full? If both are alright, you only do not have ABS, which is not as critical, but if you have any issues with a different petal feel or low on brake fluid, it needs to be looked at immediatly.

I changed the brake pads on a 05 equinox

Did you bump the ABS pickup at the wheel hub when you changed the brakes? Or are the wires maybe nicked? The noise is normal and might go away depending on the brake pad type you replaced with. The ABS problem might be caused by you.

Changed brake pads and fluid. Brake light/ABS light still lit.

Go back around and check to make sure you didnt accidentally pinch or cut a brake pad sensor. Also the ABS modules on VAG cars are pretty crappy.

My parking brake light and anti lock light are on. The truck runs fine but is this something to worry about? it is a 1990 Dodge Dakota 4 wheel drive

Non at all if the truck is rolling fine and does not seem to be dragging. ABS light may be faulty abs pump. I just open the hood and pull the fuse on mine.
