Idle air control valve could be the problem, try removing it and cleaning the carbon from the valve, and the intake, where it mounts. If this does not help, replace the idle air control.

How do you clean an idler control valve on a mazda millenia

Removing the idle air control solenoid and pintle assembly and clean it? Sometimes carbon or gunk can cause the pintle to not seat all the way in the bore and cause a high idle condition. You should also clean the throttle bore and make sure that the throttle blade contacts it's stop. If you notice that the throttle blade isn't contacting it's stop you might have carbon holding the blade open or the throttle cable isn't adjusted properly. NOTE:Use carb cleaner

Also inspect for vacuum leaks. Vacuum leaks after the throttle blade will cause a high idle and lean condition.

I would do those things first before condemning the whole IAC assembly

This then reason your TCS light is on> This indicates a problem with the abs system. You will have to have the abs computer scanned to determine where the problem is.I suggest contacting the dealer and let them know what is going on,they will only find the problem if the light is on.This way you may be able to set it up with them so you can just stop by with the light on and have it scanned.Make sure you son't shut the car off when you get there!Hope this helps! Thanks

When engine gets hot, idle is up and down with the engine light on. OBD code gives a P0505 code.

per this address "" p0505 is a "IAC (Idle Air Control) System Malfunction" it gives some good suggestions to look at to find a solution for your problem.

My misubishi galant 1998 ES have check engine light and code PO505, any posible solutions?? It's shutting off constantly

Code P0505 is a problem with the IAC (idle air control) which regulates the idle speed. To check it quickly, disconnect the IAC connection located below the throttle body near the firewall. Start the car and the idle should run around 1300 rpm at idle. If this is the case then the likely cause it a bad idle motor. The cost of a new one is $110 at Pep Boys or $30 at a Pick n Pull. Keep me posted, thx.

I have rough idle in my corrolla and the check engine light remains on. i have change the throttle body, distributer-cap, rotor, and checked all the vacume hoses. could it be the valves? if so what is the...

Well if your check engine light is on then the first step would be to get it scanned to find out what error codes there are.It could be your idle air controll valve.Injectors could be dirty and at high RPMs it is fine but at idle instead of a fine spray it may just drip.Try running some Seafoam thru a couple tankes of fuel.Well good luck, and I hope this helps.

Car seems to idle rough. almost dies then the car revs above normal to compensate. check engion light is on. and for some reason the traction control light comes on when car is running rough.

you need to have an OBDII code scanner to read the error codes or codes for the check engine light being on. sounds like the mass air flow(maf) sensor is the culprit. also possible is either the throttle position sensor(tps) or idle air control(iac) valve. the OBDII code scanner will tell you in a PXXXX error code to help you pinpoint the problem. (the XXXX is the numeric error code and the P stands for powertrain.

Two problems engine light is on,idles rough , sometimes wont go

Take it to a auto parts store and have the computer scanned for the trouble codes. Autozone will do it for free, then you will have a better idea whats going on. It could be a number of things causing rough idle. I would get it scanned before replacing anything else. I hope this helps.
