I had the same problem. It turns out that the resistor was burnt, as this is a LED light strip and not a single bulb. If you are handy and want to save $$$$ you can get a replacement resistor through a parts store such as Radio Shack and solder it into the board. I did this and it works just fine

No there is no seperate fuse.I would try to change the bulbs and check the sockets for corosion and if it is not the problem I would start checking the wiring going to the light.see if you get juice at the socket were the light bulb goes in with a test light first.

SOURCE: brake lights do not work, all other lights work.

Have you checked the brake light switch thats activated by the brake pedal arm?if not follow the brake pedal arm up under the dash and you will find a switch that goes on and off when you push the arm in and out.Make sure you have power in and out and the switch is correctly adjusted.

Where is the #24 fuse located at for the third brake light

Year/make/model didn't post. The high mount brake light is not fused seperately. It should be on the same fuse as the brake lights. If it is not working check for a bad bulb. If the assembly is LED, check for power and ground at connector to light. If power and ground ok, suspect defective LED assembly

The 3rd/high brake light is not working .. replace light bulb with a new bulb. nothing happened. checked to see if fuse is good couldnt find it.. besides the fuse what could be the problem.. 2001 gmc...

Brake light switch. If I remember correctly, the third brake light works off a seperate circuit from the other brake lights so part of the switch could be bad.

Is the top brake light, the tail light or the backing up light?

Neither it only comes on when brakes applied. They often fail, and have a seperate fuse, check first. If fuse good and you have power and ground to light with brakes on, the third brake light assembly is no good.

My brake lights are not working, but the third light works.what could be the problem? The bulbs in the tail lights are good.

The brake lights and the top center brake light are on seperate fuses. One fuse may say "stop" and the other might say "brake"...it varies from model to model and some aren't identified at all other than by numbers. The locations and descriptios should be in the fuse section of the owners manual if you still have it otherwise you may just have to check all of them to see if any are blown.

Third brake light out

Couple of things....#1..the 3rd brake light is on a different wiring circuit then the lower brake lamps. #2...The 3rd lamp shares the same fuse as the trailer hitch wiring. So if you ever pull a trailer, it's easy to blow the fuse. #3...the dash was changed in 2003...in 2002 the fuse is in the underhood fuse block....2003 it is in the left side dashboard fuse block. #4...If all else fails...rebuilt lamps are available.
