Lower brake lights no longer work on my 2002 chevy tahoe but the 3rd brake light works fine. Checked fuse and bulbs and everything works fine. Just the 2 lower brake lights dont work.

Most of the time the problem is in the turn signal switch. The third brake light circuit bypasses the turn signals.
Someone would need to check brake light power in and out of the turn signal switch.

I assume the fuse has power if the hazards work.
The third brake light skips the turn signal switch, the regular brake light circuit goes thru the turn signal switch.
Do you have power going into the turn signal switch on the red lite green wire from the brake switch ?

Turn signals hazared signals and brake lights dont work

This may sound strange but have delt with this before. Not exactly sure that this is your problem and it would need to be fully tested before you can be sure. The multi function switch in the steering column was the problem I have come across for this exact model truck on more than one time. Yes this would be the turn signal, wiper and "flash to pass" switch. Below are pictures of its location, the connectors with descriptions and wire colors for each terminal as well as some wiring diagrams for you. The wiring diagrams may be small but there is a size limit here on fixya so I could only make it so big. If you need larger pictures, email me at csautomotivecars@att.net with your information and I will be happy to email them back to you. Hope this helps....

95' Buick regal, 3rd brake light works, tail lights work, turn signals work, stoplight switch seems to work ie 3rd brake light working, fuse is ok, changed bulbs, but no rear brake lights.

If the third brake light works and the regular ones don't, it is most likely a bad turn signal (multifunction) switch. The switch is able to kill the brakes lights to run the turn signals, and in rare circumstances does this. I've seen it several times. It could also be wiring, especially near the turn signal switch, but it is usually the switch.

REAR TURN SIGNALS WORK BUT MY BRAKE LIGHTS DONT

Replace the turn signal switch. If you want to prove this have someone stand behind the car with your foot on the brake. Then wiggle the turn signal lever. The brake lights should blink. This is a real common problem with W body. I have replaced two on my cutlass plus tons more at my shop.

No turn signals or brake lights on left and right but brake light on top

I agree. My brake light dont work. Only the third brake light does. The running lights work but when i apply the brakes the rear tails dont light up.
I currently have this issue along with the signals dont work unless I bang the top of the steering colum. The hazard switch doesnt work either. If the signals dont work it makes this very quick clicking sound on the passenger side. I checked the fuses and they are good. The bulbs still work. The brake switch works cause the third brake light goes on. And seeing as I am having a problem with signals.....GM says I have to replace the switch in the steerg colume. Its a little box about the size of a cigarette pack. If you take apart the panels off ( right behind the steering wheel, where the hazard switch is) ...that is where it is located. Its plugged into the signal lever. Hope this helpa....Good luck everyone with this issue.
