Question about 2001 GMC Jimmy
2003 Jimmy would not restart after being driven an hour. Starter fluid got it to run for two seconds.Tried the relay thing, no difference. I think the fuel pump is shot. Do they quit all at once? wanting to ask if anything else he could check to be sure it's the fuel pump.
Yes they do quit without notice you can go under hood and see if fuel is getting to the fuel rail on the end of the rail there is a plastic screw cap like the one on your tire stem take it off push the little valve in if fuel dosent come out or comes out weak then its the pump if it comes out strong then id venture to say that its the crank sensor this is located on or near the crank shaft if this is ok then id also try a cam poisition sensor. also make sure that all of you hoses are in good order not missing or cracking or not too mushy all of these things can cause your no start problem. hope this gives you some insight as to where to start.
