My 1996 318i tourer was loosing power at high revs for a few days. then it lost all power and will not restart. it has a bad smell of petrol when trying to start the engine.

get access to the throttlebody, couple of screws to remove top small cover then undo the airfeed pipe jubilee clip and pull off the air tube. Inspect the butterfly inside the throttle body, it will probably be totally gummed up with carbon and oil deposits and will require a thorough cleaning using carb or brake cleaner.

BMW 318 CI m2000 hi, the power steering suddenly changed to be stronger 9while i was dirving ) and when i increase my pedal on the Gasoline the steering became softer??? I need to know why , I checked...

The power steering pump is on the way out unfortunately........the pump runs off a fan belt that runs off the crankshaft....as the engine turns faster (higher revs), the higher revs the pump pulley makes, and the faster it pumps......however if there is an internal leakage, then the pump will be less efficient at low revs....

I hope this helps

1992 auto 318i bmw judders at low revs

Hello there

If you drive an automatic and it starts to judder at low speeds than that means you transmission isn't down shifting as the speed is reduced. In the first instance you should get your transmission oil changed.

Hope this helps and please don't forget to rate me.
