When you crank the engine over when it's not starting, do you have spark? If so, start thinking about fuel. If you spray carb cleaner into the throttle body when cranking does it start? If so, you either have a fuel pump that isn't working correctly or an obstructed fuel filter.
Back to spark...If you don't have spark you may have a poor connection somewhere in the system or a lazy relay that is taking time to connect, in which case, the only real way to find it is to begin checking voltage everywhere. I'd also check the intake manifold temp sender and coolant sender for proper readings, though usually it will start but run poorly if one of those is out of range. You can get fairly decent test procedures in both chiltons or haynes...better and less expensive than guessing! (I believe that haynes calls the cam sensor a "stator" and lists it outside the ignition system electronics. I don't think that is your problem but it does not hurt to check!)
Good luck!

How to change camshaft

Not sure I follow your story. A 97 Jeep would have a distributor so there is no cam sensor.
Do you know if you are loosing fuel or spark when it fails to start ?
Have you checked the asd relay ?

The jeep will turn over for several hours and will fire every now and then it wont stay started

If the check engine light does NOT light up on the dash when you turn on the ignition, before cranking, then your jeep ECU is in need of repair. It is called the delayed start problem, affecting early 90's Jeep vehicles.
Replacement or repair services for your ECU are available on ebay.

1993 grand chrokee when cold not starting 4.0

Look on your dash when it doesn't want to start, see if the check engine light comes on. If it does not come on right away, your ecu is in need of repair.

I want to know the different between chrokee jeep and chrokee grand jeep.

different option packages : trim, interiors and electronics as well as engine options. Personally I'd take the regular one every time...the more options the more strange electronics problems. But consumers today want to drive in a living room with wheels.

Wont stay running

This sounds like it is your ignition module not sending message o your computer letting know that the key is in the ignition and the car has been started. Replace the ignition module
