Question about 1990 Dodge W250
1990 Dodge 360 in 3/4 ton 4x4.. Runs fine. Driving and everything is great. Engine is warmed up. Then get one backfire. After backfire it still runs fine - no loss of power- does not sputter. No pattern to backfire. runs fine before backfire and runs fine after backfire. no pattern to when it will happen. Occurs going uphill, downhill on flat ground.
You want to check your timing for accuracy and then check all plug wires for burned or cracked ends. Also check the single coil tower where the coilwire connects for very small cracks. Then check the inside of the disrtibutor cap for the same small cracks. Throughout this process I'm certain you'll find the culprit. Thanks, Dana
