Have you removed either of the wiper to see if the pivoting stud is moving underneath?? when the wipers are on of course... If the stud is moving I'll suggest a fix I just posted for another vehicle just a bit ago. If not... start checking the physical connections at the wiper motor, and its connection to the wiper linkage arms.

Ford f150 windshield wiper bushing diagram. windshield wipers are not working , motor is going and the wiper arms will move freely when truck is not on

sounds like a loose nut. there are nuts that hold the wiper arms on, they may be under a cover but theyre at the base of the wiper arm. also there's a nut that holds the wiper linkage onto the wiper motor. if you can move the wipers independently, it's the nuts connecting the wiper arms.if you move one arm and the other moves with it, it's the nut holding the linkage to the motor.

1998 F150 only 1 wiper works, the other slips

Virtually all wiper arm systems have notches and grooves on the wiper arm and stud to keep them in place and make them move. If you take the arm that doesn't work off, you will probably find it has stripped, it is easy to do because they are only made of "white metal". Also check the head of the stud to see if it is stripped as well. If you are unsure, you can remove the side that works for comparison. The wiper arm and stud are available at the dealer and aren;t that hard to change by yourself. Hope this helps.

Rear Wiper won't move on 1998 Jimmy

If you can wiggle the arm for at least 45 degrees or  in full motion meaning you have a problem mechanically, rear wiper has self locking when OFF and it shouldn't move. Open the inner panel and check the motor assembly for any abnormalities.
Good luck.

1998 f150 ford wipe linkage

I had a similar problem the plastic in front of the windshield is the cowl. to remove it I had to pop plastic cover over nuts holding wiper arms. remove them then remove all the screws and two plastic pop retainers and a rubber strip and a number of slide on clips to remove the two piece cowl then remove the electrical plug on the motor and three hex head screws holding the assembly in place (if you extend the linkage toward passenger side it will be easier to remove the assembly) you can get
replacement bushings on line at I couldn't find them locally here but did find them
on line . the ones I got are wiper linkage bushings help part no 49451 they are difficult to remove so I cut the worn ones off then used a proper sized socket and c clamp to install the new ones

Windshield wiper arm on passenger side won't move.

It will not be the motor, it will be the linkage or the wiper is slipping on the shaft, the lingkage is accsessible under the cowl, Hope this solves your problem and Merry Christmas
