Sounds like the shifter cable is out of adjustment. Check at the transmission and see if it is loose. Then, inside take the console out and look at the cable at the shfter lever. make sure it isn't loose there. A retaining clip may be broken or pulled loose.

How do I change latch or linkage on '95 dodge caravan driver door?

Take out the 3 or 4 screws holding the latch in on the side of door. May need impact driver. And pull out, unhook linkage and reverse process for new part.

94 honda accord only works in reverse

It sounds like a bad TCC solenoid. The Torque Converter Clutch solenoid is a small electrical switch that controls fluid flow to the torque converter. It sounds detrimental, but it's actually an easy fix. You drop thin transmission pan and its a small switch held in with one bolt, and a wire. Just take it out and replace it with a new one and you should be good as new. I hope I can be helpful to you, good luck:)

2008 ford focus manual trans no gears told shifter housing needs replaced

Same thing just happened to my 2008. I was driving to work and suddenly, no gears available (1-5 or reverse). Had it towed. Mechanic says linkage is connected and working. Has to drop the transmission. Minimum cost is $1,200.00!!!!!

What could be wrong, I engage my auto gear to drive but the vehicle won't move at all. when engaging to reverse it moves.

When was last trans fluid & filter change? It's supposed to be done every 30k/3yrs or sooner if you do any towing, I'd start there and have it flushed.

While sitting in bumper to bumper traffic moving slowly the car then just went out of gear and won't go in drive or reverse, just like it in neutral. I've had to replace both front hub assemblies already....

Have someone move the gear selector while you watch the linkage under the hood. See if the controls move. If they do the problem is inside the trans.

Yes the vehicle could have been damaged by improper towing. It could also be the accident that you were in. You must have tried to get out before you realized you were stuck too bad to move. This would have strained the transmission if the car would not move on its own.

Check your trans fluid and see if it is low, going offroad could have made you lose your trans fluid. Hopefully you just have connection problems with the shift linkage.

Forget about the Nissan dealer and take your vehicle to one of the auto parts suppliers to have a diagnosis made, then find a competent mechanic to confirm the diagnosis and make necessary repairs.

98 mustang GT transmission locked in reverse

This could be a linkage problem. I am not familiar with this transmission, does the shifter go directly into the top of the tranny? If not make sure the linkage is not hanging up somewhere. I'll help if I can. Thanks..................DB.
